Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of game is MagiTech Frontier?
A magitech corsair RPG combining the eating-for-stats depth of Elin, the sailing and faction diplomacy of Sid Meier's Pirates!, and the base-building and resident automation of RimWorld.
Is there permadeath?
No. Your character ages and eventually retires. Health degrades over time, and the final career score determines your legacy rank. Death in combat applies permanent health scars but doesn't end the game.
How does the food system work?
Every food item has a FoodTraitProfile mapping to attribute XP. Eating raises your stats permanently. Cooking compounds these traits for multiplied gains. Monster corpses, fish, and recipes all have unique profiles.
Can I build a base?
Yes. Place an Anchor Stone on any unclaimed hex. Build 33 structure types, assign residents to 6 job types, set 30+ policies, and earn passive income from shipping, tourism, stores, and fermentation.
Is there multiplayer?
The main game is single-player. The companion browser game (The Harbormaster) lets you manage a port settlement that other players can visit.
What platforms will it be on?
PC (Windows) at launch via Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and itch.io. Mac and Linux are stretch goals.
